Happily, I got a chance to reconnect by email and phone this week with a longtime colleague who is now the editor-in-chief of a major digital outlet. Knowing the kind of newsletter content I write for my audience of mostly publicists, this person wanted to share a major “pet peeve” for me to pass along to my readers. And I really couldn’t agree more with the sentiment regarding interviews (been there, done that rolled my eyes, wasted my time, produced no coverage).
Here’s the pitfall to avoid that’s in equal measures annoying and also totally self sabotaging because it will not get you the results you want:
