These last several weeks (months?) have been really balls to the wall. (Fun fact: I just learned this expression is an aviation term! I guess I’d assumed it originated with Nelly or something.) I’ve been under constant deadline pressure and I have been just churning, churning, churning copy nonstop. Head down. Just go go go.
Who knew this was the origin of balls to the wall?
But! As of this moment, I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel this month — a chance for a holiday-time pause, reset, and big-picture evaluation, both personal and professional. This is what my friend Aly Walansky called essential “life administration,” and that’s my new favorite term.
In that spirit, I’d like to announce two guest speakers for next week’s Zoom session. Aly — you may know her as MuckRack’s No. 1 food writer for 2022 — will join us to chat about year-end big-picture stuff, including the general state of the industry.
And because early registrants expressed interest in discussing affiliate topics, Zlata Faerman will also join us. Not only is Z my long-time industry pal (we go back almost to the 1900s, amirite girl), she’s also my go-to resource on all things affiliate. And her rock-solid niche expertise is sure to be your gain if this topic is salient to your business right now. (So… that’s everyone.)
