Yesterday I wrote my first newsletter ever and I focused on the importance of community — especially in a diffuse, remote, and virtual professional landscape. I sent it to a few dozen early subscribers.
Today I’m just so tickled to see that this community has already grown so much since then. It feels like a meaningful way to bridge a connection with like-minded, similarly ambitious people at a time when everything feels so fractured. (TYSM for joining us here!)
This is what Clubhouse was for me earlier in the pandemic when it was a daily lunchtime hang with my chosen work family, an essential chance to share, vent, and gain perspective. (Full-time solopreneurs — holler if you feel me). When it seemed like the world was opening up a bit, we gathered in the Mastering Media club with less frequency. (But we are gathering steam for a triumphant return in some form!)
Now, COVID rages again. Sending my young twins back to school this week in the middle of all of this — on the day that Afghanistan was falling and Haiti was desperately digging out — only underscores a pervasive feeling of helplessness and malaise.
Connection is a salve. So this is helping me — and I hope it’s helping you in whatever way, too.
Open Press Opportunities
I’m seeking MDs (only) to talk about household cleaning protocols and COVID based on up-to-date science. (No, this isn’t spring 2020, but here we are again.) This is my most pressing need this week.
To speak about yoga and kids: I’m seeking a blogger with a strong following on Instagram (75K to 100K+ followers ) and another who’s either a longtime yoga teacher and mindfulness/meditation expert or someone who has expert knowledge on how yoga specifically applies to children.
