This weekend I got to talking to another mom on the sidelines of my son’s soccer game. Turns out she’s a UCLA nutritionist I’ve used as a source for various health stories but had never before met in person. I get a kick out of that small-world stuff!
Over the weekend, I also spent some time shopping for new furnishings for my living room; I received an internet-famous new couch as a sample for a review I’m writing this week, and suddenly everything else in the room looked pretty shabby in comparison. Thanks to the supply chain, my new tables and lamps should arrive in January — and that’s a challenging wait for an instant-gratification type. Something to look forward to for the new year!
Speaking of the new year, I’m thinking about framing my next AMA session as an actionable workshop for 2023 goal setting. How do we like this idea — yay, or nay?

In my first piece for Esquire (!), I’m working on a roundup of things to do in Los Angeles. Obviously, this is my town and I’m flush with ideas — also open to your solid pitches!
For Travel + Leisure, I’m working on a piece about motion sickness remedies and I’m looking for any relevant medical pros to weigh in.
For Verywell Family, I’m working on a story about the best video cameras for families, and I’m looking for experts to comment — ideally family videographers, but I am open to a range of relevant professionals. (Hot tip: Pitches tend to be thin around this kind of story, so odds are good.)
