How was your weekend? Mine ended with a two-hour Zoom town hall with my twins’ school after multiple positive COVID cases resulting from weekly testing sent everyone into a tailspin.
Bless the school principal for keeping her cool amid the flurry of panicked questions, but I kept wanting to see gifs of her face during all of it. Her whole vibe was sort of a cross between Mckayla Maroney is not impressed and the Jet Blue flight attendant who, having dealt with one too many hellish passengers, quit over the PA system before grabbing some beer and peacing out down the emergency evacuation slide.
It’s an extremely relatable mood these days — both on and off the clock — isn’t it?
Anyway, we didn’t get the “close contact” notification, which would have required quarantine, so we sent the kids to school this morning with some modifications and a massive amount of anxiety. It’s tough. Working parents of unvaccinated kids: I see you! This one’s for you:
