The one thing all follow-up emails need
I’ve written about follow-up emails before, and I’ve always said I have absolutely no objection to them! The initial email may likely have legitimately gotten lost in my chaotic inbox, and I appreciate the second (and even third) outreach to bring it to my attention.
But make it worth the effort — both mine and yours — by making each follow-up email effective and additive. (Related words of warning: The worst kind of follow-up email is still flooding my inbox.)]
To that end, consider this email I got today that almost had me hooked completely… and then lost me. Because it needlessly left out the one essential element all effective follow-up emails must have:
