Happy Passover to all who celebrate! It’s a hard time to feel celebratory in the Jewish community. But that seems to make it even more important to come together and acknowledge everything we have overcome across millennia. Allies are more important than ever, too, but they feel scarce. This morning my neighbor — not Jewish — presented us with Adeena Sussman’s Shabbat cookbook he found at the L.A. Times Festival of Books over the weekend, with this inscription:
Happy Passover Alice! What a thoughtful gift from your neighbor. So wonderful that you have such a kind, compassionate person in your community! Also, I'd love to attend the HERO zoom, but sadly can't make it. Will you be sharing a recording after the session? I'm really interested to hear what Peter has to say!
