This past weekend was my best friends’ annual girls’ weekend, this year set for California’s pristine Northern Coast. But I wasn’t there. Instead, I spent five hours in and around LAX on a journey to nowhere and then I went home. If you live here in Los Angeles, you know we got extremely unusual hot rain on Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Kay came up from Mexico. As a result of the weather, LAX apparently reversed the direction of its runways. That reversal set in motion a chain of requirements that suddenly rendered my flight overweight by 11 passengers and 30 bags. They needed volunteers (for vouchers) or the flight would be cancelled (and nobody would get anything); it didn’t seem like a meaningful choice.
Aww! I'm sorry you missed your girls trip. :/ Those are SO needed. I just booked one to Napa next month with one of my BFFs. Hoping you are able to get together soon!
